Celebration of Eid Al-Ghadeer at Offices of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi

On Tuesday, August 20, 2019 and coinciding with the glorious the Eid Al-Ghadeer, the Islamic Seminary of Bin Fahad Hilli in holy Karbala held ceremonies to celebrate this occasion. The ceremonies were attended by religious scholars, clerics, and activists. Sheikh Muntadar Shahrestani and Sheikh Abdul Muttalib Tuwaili delivered speeches at this event.

This glorious occasion was also celebrated by Imam Shirazi Center in Montreal, Canada. This celebration was attended by members of the Canadian parliament, the borough mayor of Lachine, and public groups of Shia activists. At the beginning of this event, Ms. Maya Vodanovic, the borough mayor of Lachine made a speech to the participants. In her remarks, Ms. Vodanovic congratulated this holiday to all Muslims and appreciated the contributions of Imam Shirazi Center to the Canadian community. Mr. Sari Madi, a Canadian MP was the second speaker of the event. In his speech, Mr. Madi announced his readiness to address issues of the Shia Muslim community and thanked the managers of Imam Shirazi Center for their collaborations with the local government of Montreal. Furthermore, the podium was given to the Sunni prayer leader and Parliament candidate, Hassan Ghia, who emphasized on peaceful coexistence among followers of all faiths. Sheikh Saleh Sibveih, the director of Imam Shirazi Center was the last speaker of the ceremony. In his speech, he thanked the participants for their presence and talked about the needs of the Shia Muslim community in Canada.

Abu Talib Islamic Seminary in Lucknow, India also celebrated the glorious Eid Al-Ghadeer. The ceremonies at this Center were attended by clerics and seminary teachers. Eulogies in honor of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) were the main part of the programs at these ceremonies.

Rasul Adham Institute, dependent to the Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in holy Kadhimiya also held ceremonies to celebrate the Eid Al-Ghadeer. Groups of Shia believers and lovers of AhlulBayt (peace be upon them) took part in these ceremonies and read eulogies in honor of Imam Ali (PBUH). Furthermore, this Institute distributed its charitable gifts among needy families in holy Kadhimiya.
