Imam Shirazi Center Discusses Religion and Freedom in Imam Hussain’s Movement

Imam Shirazi Center for Strategic Studies set forth the topic of “Religion and Freedom” to the conference hall of Annaba Institute in holy Karbala. In an interview, Sheikh Morteza Maash, the director of Annaba conference halls, explained about this conference and said: “This conference intends to discover the underlying motifs of Imam Hussain’s movement such as freedom and liberty. The purpose of Imam Hussain’s movement was to set the Muslim nations free from the shackles of tyranny and dictatorship.” He further explained: “Humans’ freedom and self-determination is one of the basic beliefs and principles of Islam. In other words, freedom is the principle by which we can define God’s Unity, Justice, and Imamate.”
