Political Activists from Iraq Meet Grand Ayatollah Shirazi

On Saturday, 18th of Rabi Al-Awwal 1441 AH, a group of political activists and directors of research centers from Iraq met with the Grand Shia Jurist Ayatollah Shirazi in holy Qom, Iran. In this meeting, the visitors offered reports of their activities to the Grand Jurist. Furthermore, the Grand Ayatollah hinted, “Iraq is the land of AhlulBayt, it is the land of Amir Al-Momenin, Imam Hussein and Imam Mahdi. At some point in history, Imam Ali ruled over half the civilized world from his capital in Iraq. Despite all the problems that were imposed on his holiness, the holy Imam left a monumental and great legacy behind, which has remained exceptional ever since.” “Even the enemies of the holy Imam couldn’t find a negative point about his government. Since during the time of Imam Ali’s reign, no person was ever executed or put to jail because of their opinions, and no one ever suffered hunger.” The Grand Ayatollah also said, “Today, the Iraqi nation needs leaders who step in the footsteps of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). We need to pick up this path with diligence, patience and perseverance.” At the end of his remarks, the Grand Jurist said, “We all know that there are many gifted minds and talented people in Iraq and so I believe that the future is bright.”
