Imam Shirazi World Foundation Publishes Statement on International Day for Tolerance

Coinciding with the International Day for Tolerance on November 16, Imam Shirazi World Foundation published a statement that reads as follows:

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

“Pardon and show forgiveness, don’t you like God to forgive you.” Verse 22, Chapter Al-Noor.

With the onset of the religion of Islam, and ever since the holy Prophet of Islam and his noble progeny displayed the tenets of this holy faith to the entire world, the spirit of tolerance and forgiveness was considered as an underlying feature. In other words, peace and nonviolence have been at the heart of Islam.

Appreciating the great significance of the principle of tolerance, the Grand Jurist Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq Shirazi has been persistent on calling all groups of people, regardless of their color, faith, and nationality, to observe tolerance in their societies.

The rest of the statement reads: “On the International Day for Tolerance on November 16, Imam Shirazi World Foundation calls on all regional and international organizations to promote the culture of tolerance and forgiveness among all nations and to halt any armed conflict and political and economic tensions.”
