Nonviolence Incorporation Highlights International Migrants Day

Coinciding with the International Migrants Day on December 18, 2019, Nonviolence Incorporation published a statement that reads as follows:

“The International Law regards the right of immigration as a basic part of human rights. This right helps people to escape danger and attain a decent life, in which they can enjoy proper education and medical services. Therefore, the entire world has agreed to recognize and devise strategies to facilitate legal immigration, regardless of faith, color and ethnical backgrounds. As tensions and conflicts sweep across many countries, the right of immigration has become one of the most viable options for people to seek a better life.”

The rest of the statement reads:

“Armed conflicts, discriminatory behaviors and suppressive measures by some regimes, as well as natural disasters caused by climate change have caused countless number of people from the Middle East and African countries leave their homes behind and seek refuge in other countries. Based on the international law, the host countries should provide these refugees with a decent life and protect their lives. On December 18, the International Migrants Day, the entire world must see into the issue of immigration and remedy this ailment by addressing the root causes. To this end, there needs to be comprehensive policies that ensure wealth, security and stability in these countries.”
