Representative of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Discusses Reformation of Citizenship Bill

Officials from the Indian judiciary system sat down with Muslim clerics in this country, following nationwide protests to the exclusion of Muslim immigrants from the recent Indian citizenship bill. Sayed Saif Abbas Naqvi, the representative of the Grand Shia Jurist Ayatollah Shirazi in India as well as two other notable Sunni clerics represented the Muslim communities in this country. According to the bill, migrants from the countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh were provided with legal grounds to apply for citizenship, if they profess one of the six faiths mentioned in the bill. The protests took place after the exclusion of Muslims from the bill.
