Published Statement by the Nonviolence Incorporation on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

Coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Nonviolence Incorporation, dependent on Imam Shirazi World Foundation published the following statement:

“In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Almighty God has said: O people. We have created you from a male and female and made you into nations and tribes that you might know one another. The noblest of you before God is the most righteous of you. God is the Knower and the Aware. [Surah Hujurat, verse 13]

As we are approaching the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the world has faced a forceful pandemic which threatens the lives of all human beings, regardless of their color, faith and race. In this time of crisis, what matters the most is to stand united and celebrate the diversity in all its forms and shapes.

At this moment, the spread of coronavirus across the world has made all racial barriers empty and meaningless. In other words, this virus reminds humanity that we as humans share the same destiny, irrespective of the color of our skins.

First, second and third world countries, the developed countries and simply all nations are similarly vulnerable to the novel coronavirus. Therefore, we need to redefine our identities and do not let racial barriers break us apart.

On this note, Nonviolence Incorporation calls on all world leaders to take effective measures and release all prisoners of conscience, and all those people who have been put in prison because of their political and religious affiliations.”
