Sayed Shuhada Committee Dispatches Aids to Victims of Beirut Port Blast
Sayed Shuhada Charitable Committee, affiliated with the Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in Kuwait dispatched the first round of its aids to the victims of Beirut port blast over the past few days. This humanitarian program was carried out in compliance to the instructions of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi to sympathize with the victims of this incident and promote the spirit of peaceful coexistence. These aids consisted of hundreds of food baskets and hygiene items. On the afternoon of 4 August 2020, two explosions occurred at the port of the city of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The second explosion was extremely powerful, and caused at least 177 deaths, 6,000 injuries, and US$10–15 billion in property damage, leaving an estimated 300,000 people homeless. It is worth noting that the Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi published a message to sympathize with the Lebanese nation, right after this incident.
