ISWF Publishes Message of Condolence over Baghdad Hospital Fire

A fire sparked by an exploding oxygen cylinder killed at least 82 people, most of them Covid-19 patients and their relatives, at a Baghdad hospital late Saturday, a devastating example of the pandemic’s impact on a country riddled with corruption, mismanagement and a legacy of decrepit infrastructure.

Following this incident, Imam Shirazi World Foundation published a message of condolence that reads as follows:

Imam Shirazi World Foundation offers its deepest condolences over the injury and martyrdom of more than 200 people, in a fire that broke out in one of the hospitals in the country’s capital, Baghdad. This foundation calls on the Iraqi authorities to openly accept full responsibility for this tragic incident and address all shortages in the health sector.
