Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Publishes Statement over Deadly Blast in Kabul Afghanistan

At least 58 people have been killed and more than 150 injured in a bomb attack on girls leaving their school in a largely Shia Muslim neighborhood in Kabul, Afghanistan. Ensuing the deadly attack on Sayed Shuhada high school, the Office of Grand Shia Jurist Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq Shirazi in this City condemned the attack in a public statement. Parts of the statement read as follows:

“In yet another heart-clenching and tragic incident by terrorists against the Shia community, more than 200 high school teenage girls in Kabul were killed and injured in three back-to-back bomb blasts, in just a few days remaining from the holy month of Ramadan.

Such unbearable and tragic incidents, which are rooted in the ignorance, deviant ideas and cruel policies of the bloodthirsty superpowers, have repeatedly dragged the future generations of society to death and blood, hurting the hearts of free people in all parts of the world.

The Office of the Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in Kabul, Afghanistan, while expressing disgust and hatred for the perpetrators of this tragedy, expressed his condolences and sympathy to the oppressed people of Afghanistan, the families of the martyrs and the wounded. This Office also prays to God Almighty for those rosy shrouded martyrs, to be reunited with the Holy Prophet and His Family, especially the martyrs of Karbala. This Office also prays for the speedy recovery of the injured, and asks of God to grant patience to the bereaved families.”
